For my 21st, I wanted to create an atmosphere that felt warm, inviting, and effortlessly beautiful—a true celebration of summer. Set outdoors in the golden height of the season, with a pool glistening under the sun and a garden in full bloom, the design direction needed to reflect the organic, feminine, and playful energy of the day.
Inspired by the soft warmth of butter yellow and the dreamy expanse of a summer sky in soft blue, I developed a hand-drawn aesthetic that felt both personal and whimsical. Every sign was carefully designed to be more than just functional—an extension of the party’s atmosphere. From a cheeky "None of that skinny dipping" by the pool to an elegant yet lighthearted "Lookin’ good" by the bathroom, the typography and illustrations added personality and charm.
The welcome sign set the tone, inviting guests into a space where details mattered—from the delicate floral motifs to the playfully worded "Grab a drink" and "Punch (non-alc)" station markers. Even the more practical signage, like "Keep off the grass" and "No food or drinks beyond this point", carried the same effortless, fun-loving spirit.
By blending thoughtful creative direction with a handcrafted aesthetic, this project transformed functional signage into a cohesive visual story—one that made guests feel part of something special. The result was an event where design wasn’t just in the details; it was part of the experience itself.
